The world's largest intercity coach network — now crossing Africa.
FLiXBUS runs green intercity coaches across Europe, North America and Asia. FLiXBUSaf is the African expansion arm, rolling out along the Trans-African Highway network linking 44 nations from Cairo to Cape Town, Dakar to Djibouti, and every corridor in between.
9 highway corridors, one system
The Trans-African Highway is a planned network of 9 corridors totalling over 60,000 km. FLiXBUSaf runs green coaches on the segments already open, expanding month by month.
44 African nations
Our roadmap spans every continental African country. Each route tier on the platform represents a nation you help fund fleet capacity for.
Community-owned seats
Instead of raising from a handful of institutions, we let everyday Ugandans micro-fund seat capacity and share the upside — from short-term ROI to year-one revenue share.
Six cities, six starting points on the highway.

From a Munich office to the world's largest coach network.
FLiXBUS was co-founded in 2011 by Jochen Engert together with André Schwämmlein and Daniel Krauss, three friends who left careers in strategy consulting and software to reimagine intercity travel from a small office in Munich, Germany. Their bet was simple: combine a modern tech platform with independent bus operators, and give travellers affordable, green, city-to-city rides. The first FlixBus rolled out of Munich in 2013. Today the FlixBus network is the largest intercity coach system in the world — spanning more than 40 countries across Europe, North America and Asia. FLiXBUSaf is the African expansion arm, carrying that same story onto the Trans-African Highway.
From a Munich garage-office to the largest intercity coach network on Earth — FLiXBUS proved that a small team with a bold idea can move a continent. FLiXBUSaf carries that DNA into Africa: green coaches, community-owned seats, one highway from Cairo to Cape Town.
